Gurgaon: As rains lashed several parts of the city on Wednesday morning and caused waterlogging on the roads, leading to traffic snarls, the traffic police once again swung into action to avoid major jams and blockades. They also kept the residents informed through their social media handle about the roads to be avoided and the overall situation on the ground, while cops posted on the ground managed traffic in knee-deep water and cleared blockages in drain at some points to tackle waterlogging.
Around 1,800 policemen were deployed across the city from early morning to deal with congestion due to waterlogging. According to police, special focus was put on underpasses and major stretches and junctions like – Sohna Road, MG Road, Golf Course Road, IFFCO Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, Narsinghpur Chowk, Sheetla Mata Road, Udyog Vihar to control traffic situation.

Rohtak-based contractor robbed of his car at gunpoint near Dwarka Expressway
Two unidentified miscreants snatched a car belonging to a Rohtak-based contractor at gunpoint near Dhankot village on the Dwarka Expressway on Sunday night. The victim has been identified as Naveen Kumar, a native of Rohtak currently residing in Sector-15 in Gurugram.
In his complaint, the victim said that two men snatched his car, Hyundai Creta, at gunpoint near Dhankot village on Sunday when he was on his way back to Gurugram from Rohtak and had stopped on Dwarka Expressway for some work.
A case has been registered at Rajendra Park police station under relevant sections of the IPC against unknown people. According to primary information, the investigation team has received some inputs about the absconding criminals. A team of Crime Branch is also investigating the matter.
