Today, eradication of corruption has become the voice of the whole nation. Bail is not the logical conclusion of any case as per law. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was established in 1999 to cope with the menace of corruption and corrupt practices. When Honorable Mr Justice Javed Iqbal took over as Chairman National Accountability Bureau, he chalked out a comprehensive anti-corruption strategy comprising awareness, prevention and enforcement under “Accountability for All” policy, besides overhauling and perfecting working procedures in order to make NAB a more credible and reputed organisation to eradicate corruption in all its forms and manifestations. The NAB chairman knew it fully well that the path ahead is extremely thorny and will require extraordinary determination and courage to tackle rampant corruption and misuse of authority, money laundering, assets beyond known sources of income and cheating the public ....

World Economic Forum appreciates NAB's effective awareness and prevention strategy

Honorable Mr. Justice Javed Iqbal, Chairman NAB said that corruption is a method and a technique adopted just to bypass the rule of law and engulf the whole system into socio economic turmoil. Furthermore, corruption, being the root cause of almost all ills, gives birth to multifarious problems including nepotism, favoritism and negating meritocracy, transparency and accountability. He said that NAB’s effective Awareness and Prevention Strategy has started yielding excellent results which was appreciated by the World Economic Forum in order to aware people about the ill effects of corruption.
The Chairman NAB said that due to the initiatives taken by the present management of NAB, eradication of corruption has become the voice of the whole nation. Transparency International Pakistan has also appreciated NAB’s performance whereas the survey conducted by Gillani and Gallop, 59 percent people have shown trust upon NAB.
