Now that more people are shedding the masks and gloves, is there a problem with how they’re being discarded?“PPE has definitely exploded. It’s not at the top of the list. Cigarette butts always rank at the top of the list on Tybee, but it’s certainly high up there. The masks and gloves in particular,” Tim Arnold said.Tim Arnold and his Tybee Clean Beach volunteers clean this beach weekly, and they’re starting to see more and more masks.“We see hundreds of masks. Nobody wants to pick them up. It’s like picking up a diaper. Nobody wants to pick them up. We have big extended grabbers that we use to pick them up.
