It’s no secret that young people have been among the worst affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Dreams have been crushed and future career prospects feel damaged due to the dire state of the job market. But for some, it has been the push they needed to start their own businesses.
Since various parts of the country went into lockdown to combat the spread of the virus, employers who’ve been hit by the nature of the economic downturn, have had to cut a record number of jobs, cancel or postpone interviews and even put their employees on furlough. Black young people’s employment prospects hit by COVID
Black Caribbean young people were found to be the most entrepreneurial, 60% of them had business ideas
BLACK YOUNG people’s employment prospects in the UK have been worse hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, research surveying over 1000 people aged 16-25 has shown.
The report, which was published today by ClearView Research Ltd, found that 45% of Black, Caribbean young people had been furloughed due to COVID-19, compared with 26% of their white peers from the UK. 
Black Caribbean young people also suffered as their working hours were reduced at more than twice the rate (32%) of white young people from the UK (15%). ....
