South Shore 4th of July fireworks canceled for 2021

STATELINE, Nev. - There will be no fireworks celebrations at Lake Tahoe this 4th of July. The Tahoe Douglas Visitors Authority announced Wednesday they will be canceling the 2021 Fourth of July “Lights on the Lake” fireworks display following months of careful discussion and consultation with area partners.
The decision is focused on public safety concerns and providing mitigation solutions around peak visitation times. The annual display draws tens of thousands of visitors to area beaches and reservations interest is already strong for the destination’s lodging this year with the holiday falling on a weekend. ....

STATELINE, Nev. - Construction on the new Tahoe South Events Center will resume on Monday, May 3, 2021, after the seasonal halt of activity on the site in the parking lot of MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. New construction fences are up in preparation for excavation, concrete, and foundation work. Completion is anticipated by the end of 2022.
The 132,000 square-foot, multi-purpose facility is designed to complement the destination’s gaming and recreational offerings. The project broke ground in July 2020 along the U.S. Highway 50 border. It will provide a venue for conventions, special events, and entertainment, as well as a variety of events for the local South Shore community, including concerts, and family programming, as well as professional and amateur sporting events. The events center is expected to host up to 130 events a year with opportunities to expand visitation into shoulder seasons and mid-week periods. STATELINE Nev. Construction on the more than $80 million Tahoe South Events Center will resume next week.
Excavation, concrete and foundation work will begin on Monday, May 3. The project broke ground in July 2020 at Montbleu Resort Casino & Spa, along U.S. Highway 50.
The new center will provide a venue for conventions, special events and entertainment, as well as a variety of events for the South Tahoe community, including concerts and family programming, as well as professional and amateur sporting events.
The events center is expected to host up to 130 events a year with opportunities to expand visitation into shoulder seasons and mid-week periods. NHL donates a Zamboni for the Tahoe South Event Center

STATELINE, Nev. - The NHL Outdoors at Lake Tahoe™ held over the February 20-21 weekend at Edgewood Tahoe featured the best of what Lake Tahoe is all about - beautiful scenery and hospitality. As a parting gift, the NHL donated a Zamboni for the Tahoe South Event Center to utilize for ice events in the multi-purpose facility.
The 132,000 square-foot Event Center will be built in the front parking lot of the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa and will offer space for conventions, special events, sporting events and entertainment on Lake Tahoe’s south shore. Ground broke last summer and it is scheduled to be completed in late-2022. ....
