Scientists discover bioengineered hybrid muscle fiber for regenerative medicine

Scientists discover bioengineered hybrid muscle fiber for regenerative medicine

Washington [US], February 28 (ANI): Researchers through their study published in the journal, Advanced Materials claimed that regeneration of muscletissue can be achieved by joining direct cell reprogramming with natural-synthetic hybrid scaffold as structural support for the medication.
Muscle is the largest organ that accounts for 40% of body mass and plays an essential role in maintaining our lives. Muscle tissue is notable for its unique ability for spontaneous regeneration.
However, in serious injuries such as those sustained in car accidents or tumour resection which results in a volumetric muscle loss (VML), the muscle s ability to recover is greatly diminished. ....

Mat moistening for fibre board industry

Application of water and release agent
The task
Increasing productivity, lowering material consumption
To quickly activate the adhesive with wood fibreboards, steam is pressed into the briquette. The so-called steam shock makes high moisture of the entire fibre material unnecessary and optimises the quality of the boards. In addition, the fibre cake must not adhere to the mould substrate nor the press when it is loaded on the transport belt to prevent soiling the system. The task consist of applying water precision-metered on the fibre cake to reach these effects.
Application of water
The so-called steam shock activates the adhesive more quickly and reduces the pressing time. This results in higher production speeds and greater board density or smoother surface. In turn, this reduces sanding or grinding processes and lowers the material consumption. ....

Scientists Use Weather Radar Tech to Watch Storms of Microbes Brew Inside Cells

Scientists Use Weather Radar Tech to Watch Storms of Microbes Brew Inside Cells
28 FEBRUARY 2021
Scientists are using a radar-like weather system to watch as a storm of pathogens brew inside living tissue.
The strategy is entirely novel, according to the authors, and relies on a technique very similar to Doppler radars, which can detect the motion of precipitation and predict upcoming weather patterns.

Doppler ultrasounds, which use sound waves to create images of blood flow, are already used in the medical sphere, but this new technique can allow scientists to peek inside individual cells to see how they respond to pathogens like salmonella and ....

Your favourite tissue could be withdrawn from the market following a directive by Kenya Bureau of Standards (Kebs) for poor quality.
Kebs has flagged 26 brands of tissue, among them some of the most popular in the market, for noncompliance to  quality standards.
In a letter to the chief executive of the Retail Trade Association of Kenya (Retrak) dated February 24, Kebs asked the association to inform its members to withdraw the tissues from supermarket shelves.
“Following market surveillance activities on toilet paper brands in circulation across the country, Kebs detected noncompliance with the requirements of the Standards Act,” said the letter signed by Director of Market Surveillance Peter Kaigwara. ....
