Orangeville, ON, Canada / 101.5 Orangeville Today Jun 2, 2021 | 10:09 AM Tickets for the Town of Orangeville’s Drive-in Summer Concert Series go on sale June 8 at 8 a.m. The concerts are scheduled for August dates in Rotary Park, with MyFM 101.5 as the media sponsor. “The past year has certainly continued to be challenging in the music and event industry,” said Mayor Sandy Brown. “Orangeville Council is pleased to have the Town offer live music again this summer. May 27, 2021 · 0 Comments By Constance Scrafield A tremendously exciting project is looking for an artist from the Dufferin/Caledon area to produce just the right design for a mural in the centre of town at 114 Broadway. The design theme for this masterpiece-to-be is the main stage of Theatre Orangeville. The object of the exercise is its attraction as an interactive focal point, a place to pose for photographs, a feature of the town to enhance its beauty and tell a story at the same time. There is everything to gain from this proposed endeavour. When the town hired Destination Development Specialist, Roger Brooks, to assess ways in which Orangeville could become a destination town, one of his recommendations was public art installations throughout the town. Many of Orangeville’s tree sculptures were already in place and utility boxes carry reproductions of artists’ paintings on many street corner ....

After all the cancellations of last year, it is wonderful news that Young Company will be able to rehearse in the rehearsal hall and perform their much-loved comedy at a venue yet to be announced. Meanwhile, other theatre programs for the summer are also in the plans. “First of all, there are two youth programs,” said Kait Gallant, newly hired to Theatre Orangeville’s staff as program coordinator. She told the Citizen, “They are camps for younger people, grades 2 to 6. The dates are from July 5 to 9 and July 26 to 30, on Mondays to Fridays, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.” ....
