Pueblo Community College concurrent enrollment could help students

As Pueblo positions itself to address the challenges of a post-pandemic recovery, it is my belief that we must capitalize on the opportunity to provide students an accessible, affordable journey to a college education. Concurrent enrollment is an exceptional way to offer seamless transitions among K-12 education, higher education, and business and industry.
Colorado’s concurrent enrollment program, created by the state legislature in 2009, enables students to take college courses while they are still in high school. Classes may take place on the college campus or be taught by college-certified teachers at the high school.
Tuition is paid for by a student’s school district, saving families thousands of dollars in education costs. In the 2018-19 school year, concurrent enrollment students at Pueblo Community College campuses saved an estimated $2.3 million in tuition.
