Eagle County is part of BLM prescribed burns

Fire managers from the Bureau of Land Management Northwest District Fire and Aviation and the Kremmling Field Office are planning to conduct prescribed burns on BLM and Colorado Parks and Wildlife managed lands through April 30, as conditions warrant, to reduce wildfire threat and pinyon-juniper expansion, increase big horn sheep habitat, help restore sagebrush steppes and create more big game winter habitat.
In Eagle and Grand counties, the 350-acre Dry Gulch prescribed fire is planned on BLM lands about 11 miles southwest of Kremmling along the Trough Road.
In Grand county, the 100-acre Geico Prescribed Fire is planned in the same general area as the Inspiration burn, but on Colorado Parks and Wildlife lands. ....

BLM To Conduct Controlled Burns as Winter Weather Arrives
CASPER, Wyo. – The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Casper, Buffalo and Newcastle Field Offices are planning to burn slash piles on public lands as winter weather makes preventative burns safe to conduct across the region.
Burning may begin as early as next week and continue through April 2021, with all prescribed burn projects conducted in accordance with approved burn plans which specify weather, smoke dispersal, and fuel moisture conditions.
“Each year we wait for the winter months to conduct these burns in a way that is controlled and safe,” said Casey Cheesbrough, Fire Management Specialist, High Plains District. “When we conduct these planned burns, there is the possibility of smoke being seen by residents of local communities.
