I patch my sweaters’ elbows and shine my own shoes. But every once in a while, I get to live like Midas because, well… people enjoy reading about the lifestyles of the rich, and I’m happy to be on occasion proxy to their fantasies.
This is how I came to be jumping — my harpsichord a few feet away beyond my suite’s library — on the oversized bed in Mollies, an uber-elegant boutique-hotel in Auckland, New Zealand. And how I later got to have a sumptuous six-course dinner at Ridge Country Retreat where — were I paying the tab for the Indulgence Package  — the night would have cost more than $2000, and how even later … but you get the point. ....
