ISLAMABAD: Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala warned in the Senate on Monday that now every officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) would face the media trial, as the issue of politicians’ witch-hunting was not coming to an end.
He said, “People are leaving the country and are worried that NAB may run their news stories any time and the notices issued to them will be run on the channels.
“This matter is not coming to an end, rather growing. So, I tell the government officials we will seriously consider the issue and end it as soon as possible.” ....

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar has said that the British government has assured Pakistan that it will consider the government’s application seeking extradition of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, he said the visit visa application of the PML-N supremo had already expired.
In reply to a question, the adviser said that as per the agreement with the United Kingdom, the extradition of convicted prisoners was possible between the two countries. He said the UK government had assured Pakistan of considering Islamabad’s application for extradition of the PML-N leader. ....

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior Barrister Mirza Shahzad Akbar Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would not allow anyone to disgrace the institutions.
Senate Deputy Chairman Saleem Mandviwala should challenge the court’s order for forfeiture of his stock market shares at the relevant high court instead of targeting the NAB, he said while talking to media. He said a member of parliament is not a sacred cow, adding that any parliamentarian could not use his official position for personal benefits.
“There is no immunity to any parliamentarian and Mandviwala should not misuse his official position for personal gains, the adviser said. He lamented that the opposition wanted to make the country a banana republic. ....
