Woman killed in Spring Valley shooting not the intended target, prosecution said

EL CAJON
A 26-year-old man accused of shooting into a parked car in Spring Valley earlier this year, killing a woman seated inside, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to murder and other felony charges.
Jammerieo Austin is accused of firing more than a dozen rounds into the car the night of April 24, in an incident prosecutors say was gang-related.
Karmen Dionne Anderson, 40, of San Diego was fatally injured but she was not the shooter’s intended target, Deputy District Attorney Chris Lawson said in court. Her husband was in the driver’s seat and a 4-year-old child was in the backseat of the car when one of the bullets hit the gas tank, causing it to erupt in flames. ....

Potential charges to come for 3 people arrested at Saturday anti-socialism rally in Eugene
Three people arrested at an anti-socialism rally Saturday in Eugene won t be arraigned on any potential charges until later this month and early February.
The three people were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after a physical fight broke out just before 1 p.m. Saturday. Instead of charges being filed through the District Attorney s Office, the three were sent to Eugene City Prosecutor s Office for potential charges.
Eugene Police Department chose to send these cases to the city prosecutor instead of the Lane County District Attorney s Office, said Deputy District Attorney Chris Parosa. Since the potential charges were misdemeanor violations, the city can prosecute those. If they had been felonies, they would have gone to the DA. ....
