Agra, March 17 (IANS) A male Golden Jackal aged about five years, which had met with a road accident, was rescued by the Wildlife SOS from the Mall Road in Tajganj on Wednesday. The animal has suffered multiple wound injuries and a fractured left hind limb, and is currently undergoing treatment at the Wildlife SOS hospital.

Lynchburg jail book drive aims for 1,000 donations


With visitation to the Lynchburg jail suspended for almost a year now, a drive is underway this month to collect 1,000 books for people detained there.
Ann Iñiguez, a mental health counselor working out of the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center, said she’d considered a drive to help fill the jail’s shelves for a few years now.
“It seems like it’s maybe long overdue,” she said.
After she joined the Junior League of Lynchburg in the fall, she realized she had the perfect platform to collaborate and get the word out to make the project a reality. Jail administration approved her request right off the bat, she added. ....

Penn State research finds students seeking fewer psychological services 1 year into pandemic


The coronavirus has taken a significant toll on many people’s mental health over the past year — specifically college-aged students — though universities are seeing less students seeking psychological services.
Penn State’s Center for Collegiate Mental Health released a five-part blog series spanning from February to March comparing the mental health of college students across the country before and during the pandemic.
One study found that with almost 50,000 students seeking services during the pandemic, only 33% of the students said their reason was related to the coronavirus.
In addition, CCMH found that there were 32% less students seeking treatment in fall 2020 compared to fall 2019. ....
