BENTON COUNTY, INDIANA – Detectives from the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post are seeking the public’s assistance locating two suspects from a burglary that took place in Fowler on Feb. 9, 2021. Detectives have identified two suspects, and their names are Caleb Oppelt and Paija Bennett, according to information from the state police.
Caleb Oppelt is a 21-year-old white male who is 6’2” and approximately 175 pounds with strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes. Oppelt has an active warrant for his arrest out of Benton County for two counts of burglary — Level 1 felony; two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary — Level 1 felony; two counts aggravated battery — Level 3 felony. ....

FOWLER, Ind. Indiana State Police detectives are asking for the public s help in finding two men wanted for a February burglary and shooting.
Detectives from the ISP Lafayette Post identified 21-year-old Caleb Oppelt and 23-year-old Paija Bennett as suspects in a burglary and shooting that happened in Fowler, Indiana just after midnight on Feb. 9, 2021.
Police said two people were shot that night. The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.
Oppelt is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He has strawberry blonde hair and hazel eyes. He has an active warrant for his arrest out of Benton County for three crimes: ....

FOWLER, Ind. (WLFI)   Two people have been hospitalized following an early morning shooting in Benton County. According to Indiana State Police, officers were called to an address on South Park Avenue in Fowler around midnight Monday.
After arriving, officers found two people who had been injured from an apparent gunshot. Both subjects were transported by EMS to a Lafayette area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Benton County Sheriff’s Department requested the Indiana State Police to handle the investigation. Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators from the Lafayette Post were called to the scene. ....

The Los Angeles Police Department obtained a search warrant from the Los Angeles Superior Court and seized more than 400 firearms from Wayne Wright’s residence and storage unit in Ventura County in 2004. That set off a long-term legal dispute between Wright and the LAPD that resulted in a recent federal appeals court decision regarding law enforcement’s obligations before deciding to destroy seized firearms.
