Oregon reports 6 more COVID-19 related deaths, 733 new cases
PORTLAND, Ore. (KTVZ) There are six new COVID-19 related deaths in Oregon, raising the state’s death toll to 2,455, the Oregon Health Authority reported Thursday.
OHA also reported 733 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19 as of 12:01 a.m. Thursday, bringing the state total to 172,931.
Vaccinations in Oregon
OHA reported that 44,971 new doses of COVID-19 vaccinations were added Thursday to the state immunization registry. Of this total, 29,445 doses were administered on Wednesday and 15,526 were administered on previous days but were entered into the vaccine registry on Wednesday.
The seven-day running average is now 38,728 doses per day. ....

The Oregon Health Authority on Thursday reported six COVID-19 deaths and 733 coronavirus cases, sending the state’s case trajectory higher.
Oregon is now averaging about 600 cases a day over the past week, up more than 50% from two weeks ago. Thursday’s reported test positivity rate hit 4.1%, slightly below the weekly average.
More than 1.5 million Oregonians are now partially or fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But state officials have identified more variants of the coronavirus, setting up a race to inoculate residents before more contagious infections ....

Oregon’s 2,450th COVID-19 death was a 93-year-old woman in Clackamas County who tested positive on Jan. 14 and died on April 9 at her residence. The death certificate listed COVID-19 disease or SARS-CoV-2 as a cause of death or a significant condition contributing to death. She had underlying conditions.
Oregon’s 2,451st COVID-19 death was a 71-year-old woman in Baker County who tested positive on April 7 and died on April 14 at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center. She had underlying conditions.
Oregon’s 2,452nd COVID-19 death was a 62-year-old man in Clackamas County who tested positive on March 22 and died on April 5 at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. Presence of underlying conditions is being confirmed. ....

UPDATE: 22 year old who was in 2-car crash on April 1 dies

A 22-year-old Nampa man who was injured in a two-car crash on April 1 died from injuries sustained in the crash.
“Sean Crandall, the driver involved in the collision on U.S. Highway 95 April 1, just north of Payette did indeed succumb to his injuries,” reads an email on Monday afternoon from Lynn Hightower, communications director for Idaho State Police.
She says the incident remains under investigation.
The crash happened near milepost 73, and Idaho State Police responded at about 2 p.m.
Police say Crandall was traveling south on the highway, driving a 2009 Ford Focus.
He was stopped to make a left-hand turn on N.E. 25th Ave. when he was struck from behind by a 1998 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Judi Richards, 57, of Weiser. ....
