Barry Braun has an interesting story to share when his students return for fall classes at Colorado State University. The health and exercise science professor and executive director of the Human Performance Clinical Research Lab rappelled off a 60-foot tower in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
It was all part of the Army ROTC Cadet Summer Training Leadership Symposium in June. Braun was one of a select few to participate in the symposium’s Center of Influence, in which more than 200 universities compete for representatives. ....

Wade C. Miller


Wade C. Miller - age 87 formerly of Nashville was born July 7, 1933 in Johnson City, TN and moved on to rest and enjoy dessert on Sunday, May 23, 2021, in Knoxville, TN. Wade graduated from Science Hill High School in 1952 where he ran track and played baseball. He graduated from East Tennessee State College (University) in 1956. While at ETSU, he was a member of the ROTC and served in the US Army Reserves, was president of the junior class, and was a founding member of the East Tennessee chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. After graduation, Wade served in the US Army and was stationed at Ft. Benning, GA and Ft. Lewis, WA. He served in the Army from November 25, 1956 through March 17, 1964 where he rose to the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Upon returning from active service, he made it his mission to track down the beautiful girl who had caught his eye before he left for the Army. He married Tresa Lynn Underwood on June 4, 1959 at Trentville Methodist Church in Strawberry Plains, TN ....

NSU ROTC Cadet Commissioned as U.S. Army Officers


NATCHITOCHES – Four graduating senior ROTC cadets from Northwestern State University’s 71st Demon Battalion were commissioned as second lieutenants in the United States Army Friday, concluding three days of commencement ceremonies and celebrations.
The cadets completed not only academic requirements for graduation, but also special military training to become an officer. The four took their oath during the sixth and final graduation ceremony May 7 and were commissioned in a separate ceremony that followed, joined by family and friends. Lt. Col. Wendell Bender, senior military instructor, issued the oath.
The new officers are 2nd Lt. Ethan P. Lewis of Dry Prong, 2nd Lt. Bruna F. Galarza of Leesville, 2nd Lt. Neil Ahldwin M. Garcia of Zachary, and 2nd Lt. Gennyfer Pena-Guzman of Kenner. ....
