Business Conference on India-Philippines Infrastructure Cooperation

The Embassy of India Manila, in cooperation with the Confederation of Industry (CII) and Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) organized a business conference on India-Philippines Infrastructure Cooperation on Thursday, 18 February 2021.
The Conference was addressed by Mr. Arthur P. Tugade, Secretary, Department of Transportation and Mr. Ramon M. Lopez, Secretary, Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines as well as Ambassador of India to the Philippines Mr Shambhu S Kumaran and the Philippines Ambassador to India Mr Ramon S Bagatsing Jr. Over 200 representatives of Indian and Filipino companies attended the conference.
The Conference was an outcome of discussions between Ambassador of India to Philippines with Finance Secretary of Philippines, Mr Carlos G Dominguez, who had invited more Indian companies to engage with the rapidly expanding infrastructure sector in the Ph ....

LTFRB extends application for jeepney modernization to March 2021

Individual and existing franchise holders under the PUV Modernization Program have until March 31, 2021, to file applications, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced on Wednesday.
“The Board hereby EXTENDS the filing of Application for Consolidation under Industry Consolidation until March 31, 2021 subject to the condition set forth under MC 2019-066, and the consolidation component as required under the PUV Modernization Program,” the memo said.
“All existing operators for Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJs) and UV Express Service (UVEs) with valid CPC and those existing Provisional Authority or Special Permit shall be covered by this Circular,” it added.
LTFRB’s original deadline was on December 31 but it was moved when President Rodrigo Duterte National Health Emergency amid the COVID-19 pandemic. ....
