Balmoral Show forges ahead with capped ticket only attendance

THIS year’s Balmoral Show, in its new September date, will be a ticket only event with a cap of potentially around 20,000 visitors set per day.
These are just two of the measures event organiser the Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) is implementing to increase safety for exhibitors and visitors.
With the show cancelled last year, the RUAS lost around £1million. The society was then forced to move this year’s event from the traditional May date to September 22 to 25, 2021, in the hope that the regulations surrounding Covid-19 will have eased sufficiently by then to allow the show to go ahead. ....

Local event group fearful festivals won't return until next year

Groups are expressing worries that the country will not be in a position to host large scale events until after Christmas.
A Shannonside festival representative group says it doesn t expect festivals or events to take place until St Patrick s Day next year
The Association of Irish Festival and Events, based in Ballinasloe has been working with the government on draft guidelines for the return of outdoor events, which Minister Catherine Martin says she hopes to pilot in June or July.
The Tullamore Show has announced it was not proceeding with its showcase in late August, due to the lack of guidelines and given the time it would take to put them in place. ....

The Tullamore Show has officially been cancelled for second year in a row due to Covid-19.
The Executive of the Tullamore Show and FBD National Livestock Show has been watching the ever-evolving situation regarding Covid 19 including the latest government advice.
After several executive meetings regarding the future of the event, it is with deep regret that the decision had to be taken to cancel this year’s Show.
Preparations for The Tullamore Show that we have all become accustomed to, takes months of planning and this has not been possible due to the high levels of uncertainty that remain. All options had been examined to run the National Livestock element of the Tullamore Show however after consultations with the dairy, beef and sheep breed societies whose feedback was positive some concerns were raised due to a lack clarity and unclear guidance from the Governme ....

Organisers of the Tullamore Show have confirmed this morning that this year’s event has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.
Speaking to the Irish Examiner, Stephen Kelly, PRO Tullamore Show, said the decision wasn’t reached lightly but following discussions with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, breeding societies and the Gardai, there was no solution from a health and safety perspective that could be reached and the committee was left with no choice but to cancel this year’s proceedings. ....
