SCEF calls for improved access to essential services for street children

Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) on Monday joined the international community to mark 2021International Day for Street Children, with a call on the government to make essential services such as health care, education and shelter accessible to street children to realise their fullest potential.
This is contained in a statement issued by SCEF in Accra, signed by Paul Semeh, the Executive Director of SCEF copied the Ghanaian Times.
The theme for this year’s celebration is
“Access to Essential Services”.
The International Day for Street Children is marked every year on April 12, to draw attention the plight of millions of children on the streets across the globe for action to address their plight. ....

SCEF empowers street-connected parents on grassroots entrepreneurship

The Center for Grassroots enterprise (CGE) of the Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) has organised a workshop for parents of street-connected children on Grassroots Enterprise management.
The workshop, which was on the theme ‘’Grassroots Enterprise: managing your grassroots enterprise and presenting your business for external support” was supported by the Ghana Social Workers Union, UK.
The Executive Director of SCEF, Paul Semeh in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of the workshop and urged parents to actively take part as that could be a turning point in their lives and businesses.
“Boosting your businesses and making you self-reliant is the ultimate goal of our CGE. It is our hope here at SCEF that, these trainings will give you the needed skills to become financially sustainable so you can take care of your children. I will urge you all to take an active part in this workshop as this will help revive your businesses” ....

Over 100 Street-Connected Children Receive School Supplies From SCEF

Street Children Empowerment Foundation (SCEF) has distributed school supplies and other items to over 100 street-connected children as part of this year’s Back to School event, dubbed - Take me back to school.
The supplies, which are aimed at equipping the children, especially SCEF scholarship recipients to go back to school was donated by Adenia Partners, Send a Smile e.V and Rev. Father Andrew Campbell of Christ The King Parish Accra.
The Executive Director of SCEF, Mr. Paul Semeh expressed the organization’s continuous commitment to empowering children in the street situation through education. He noted that this year’s event is particularly significant due to the impact of COVID-19 on the livelihoods of parents and urged the children to put the items to good use and study hard to create a better future for themselves and their families. ....
