Bangladesh emerged as an independent state on December 16, 1971, to attain a self-reliant nation in the world. Budget presentations from 1972 to 2020, indicates that Bangladesh has been expanding its economy year after year. A short data is given below to understand the matter. The data shows that the budget of 1972-1973 was 786 crore taka whereas it was 5,23,190 crore taka in the 2019-2020 budget!

FY 2019-2020. The budget estimation is 5,68,000 crore taka in the FY 2020-2021. It may further increase in the next financial year, i.e. in the FY 2021-2022. It indicates expansion of the economy.
