Plastic explosives missing from Southern California Marine Corps base have been found

The explosives went missing from Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms after training exercises, according to a Feb. 4 report from 10 News San Diego, which first reported the C-4 plastic explosives were missing.
An NCIS spokesperson declined to provide additional details about the case, such as when the explosives were recovered, when reached by email Tuesday.
“No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed at this time,” said Jeff Houston, an NCIS spokesperson. “Out of respect for the investigative process, NCIS will not provide further details while the investigation continues.”

The base in Twentynine Palms is located in the Mojave Desert just north of Joshua Tree National Park. Marine units from the west and east coasts train on the base. Several units were involved in January exercises there, including Marines from Camp Pendleton and Camp Lejuene, N.C. ....
