LAUREL, Miss. (WDAM) - A special-called meeting was held Thursday between the Jones County Board of Supervisors and members of the Magnolia Center as the center seeks additional funds after canceled events.
The Magnolia Center of Laurel sought any available funds from the state or the Mississippi State Health Department that could help the center after losing revenue from events canceled due to the pandemic.
Jones County chief administrative officer and board attorney Danielle Ashley discussed the meeting with WDAM. ....

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The Jones County COVID-19 vaccine site through the Mississippi Department of Health has moved. It was previously located at the Jones County Health Department, but now people will go to the main fairgrounds parking lot behind the Magnolia Center in Jones County.
Jones County Emergency Management Director Paul Sheffield says there has been some confusion about finding the parking lot.
“What people will want to do after they make their appointment is to look for the signs to go down Doncurt Road,” Sheffield said. “You’ll need to come to the back parking lot at the fairgrounds. JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) - The place to get COVID-19 testing and vaccinations in Jones County has changed.
The site has been moved from the Jones County Health Department on U.S. Highway 11 to the South Mississippi Fair Grounds.
The address for the fairgrounds is 1457 Ellisville Boulevard in Laurel.
Any vaccination or testing appointments that have already been made will transfer to the new site.
