Brisbane buildings and parks will be lit pink on Friday night to respect the memory of Hannah Clarke and her three young children – Aaliyah, 6, Laianah, 4, and Trey, 3 - who were murdered 12 months ago on Friday.
Lord mayor Adrian Schrinner said Brisbane City Council-owned facilities would be bathed in pink to respect the Clarke family.
“On Friday we acknowledge them and we will all recommit ourselves to doing better when it comes to stopping domestic violence, to halting domestic violence,” he said. ....

A year has passed since the COVID pandemic shut down Brisbane’s Chinese New Year celebrations but a rebirth is on the cards with a delicious new addition.

Chinese New Year celebrations in Brisbane s Chinatown Mall and the Holi - Festival of Colours will go ahead next month as part of the BrisAsia Festival.
Both events were cancelled last year at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic but Brisbane City Council has just announced its BrisAsia Festival is back on from February 1.
