MORGANTOWN — West Virginia s women s basketball team is heading back to the Dance, no prom dress required.
Instead, when they return to the NCAA Championships for the first time since 2017 as a No. 4 seed to face No. 13 Lehigh. they ll be wearing Mountaineer uniforms and trying once again to overcome and overachieve, as they have all season.
The Mountaineers battled through COVID-19 and injury to finish the season by reaching the finals of the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City before losing to top-seeded Baylor, 76-50.
That loss left the Mountaineers bringing their 21-6 record into the NCAAs. ....
