“Before COVID-19 if I needed to blow off steam, I would play a shooting game. My favourite weapon on Destiny 2 is any pulse rifle. The numbers might not reflect it at a glance but the COVID-19 surge may be tapering off, one of the Government’s top COVID-19 fighters said Friday, as he eyed a key indicator of the virus’ likely spread.
Senior Medical Officer Dr Anton Best said he had reached his conclusion based on decreasing positivity rates within the last two weeks.
The positivity rate is the percentage of positive virus tests among all virus tests performed, both positives and negatives. The number may reflect the level of community transmission. ....

People queued outside supermarkets earlier today ahead of the weekend lockdown.
However, some of the shoppers in Bridgetown, Collymore Rock and Wildey, St Michael and some in St James who spoke to
Nation News said they had anticipated the lines. Although there were long lines, most people followed social distancing protocols.
Government had implemented an initial National Pause from February 3 to 17 to fight the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). During the pause supermarkets closed at 4 p.m.
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley announced on Monday that the National Pause would be extended to February. She called on Barbadians to reflect on their behaviour and warned the directive would be enforced. ....
