Free books for Black Country kids


The Connecting Stories campaign will also involve book donations to children across the area.
The campaign is backed by the National Literary Trust and the Black Country hub is one of 14 across the country aiming to improve literacy.
The first activity is the writing competition aimed at 7 to 11 year olds.
Children will be asked to create a piece of writing based on the theme ‘Our Journeys.”
Every child who enters will get a certificate and the chance to have their work published in an anthology and displayed in local community cultural institutions across the area.
There will also be book prizes for the winning entries. ....
