RADAR CHECK: Rain covers parts of east and south Alabama early this morning; there is some lightning over the southern counties of the state, but storms are well below severe limits. Otherwise, the sky is cloudy statewide with temperatures in the 60s. A surface front is becoming stationary over the state and we will have some risk of scattered showers through tonight, but the day won’t be a washout by any means. Some thunder will remain possible this afternoon over south Alabama, where the Storm Prediction Center has defined a low-end marginal risk south of a line from Demopolis to Eufaula. ....

RADAR CHECK: Rain covers parts oF East and South Alabama early this morning; there is some lighting over the southern counties of the state but storms are well below severe limits. RINGGOLD, Ga. Ten years ago, one of the most violent, prolific Super Outbreaks in U.S. history spawned 362 tornadoes over several days and impacted over two dozen states. In Georgia, there were 15 confirmed tornadoes between April 27, 2011 and the early morning hours of April 28, 2011. 
The strongest tornado, Georgia s last EF-4 up until just last month, had winds up to 175 miles per hour in parts of Catoosa County in the far northwestern corner of the state. ....

People across the Pacific Northwest were awed on the evening of March 25 by an otherworldly formation of fireballs that streaked across the heavens, causing a social media sensation. Astronomers promptly demystified it as debris from a falling SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
Though such wayward rockets generally burn up in the atmosphere, this time substantial chunks fell to earth in Eastern Washington. At least one came uncomfortably close to hitting people.
Yet neither SpaceX nor the various federal agencies with some role in tracking space junk the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, and the U.S. Space Force investigated what happened on the ground. ....
