A gazette notifying the cancellation of their titles was published on Jan 5 in line with the recommendations made during the 70th meeting of the National Freedom Fighters Council.
Bangabandhu and his family members were brutally assassinated on Aug 15, 1975. Five of the killers, including Mosleh Uddin, who was sentenced to death, are on the run. Four of them were recipients of the freedom fighter gallantry awards, which the High Court in a ruling on Dec 15, had also suspended. ....

Dhaka, Jan 10 (IANS) The Bangladesh government has cancelled freedom fighter certificates of 52 persons, including Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s fugitive killer Risaldar (suspended) Moslehuddin Khan, Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Huq said on Sunday.
A gazette notification was issued on January 5 cancelling their certificates, Huq told IANS, adding that the notification is available on the ministry’s website.
The Minister also said that within the next December 16, they will finalise the list of members of the ‘Razakars’, ‘Al-Badr’, ‘Al-Shams’, the auxiliary forces of Pakistan Army then. ....

The government has cancelled the freedom fighter certificate of former army officer Risaldar Mosleh Uddin, a convicted killer of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a gazette notification on January 5 cancelling the certificate of Risaldar Moslem Uddin, a self-confessed killer of Bangabandhu in August 1975.
Mosleh Uddin is also facing the death penalty for his involvement in the killing of four national leaders at Dhaka Central Jail in November 1975.
The ministry issued the notification to cancel the gazette as per the recommendation of the 70th meeting of the Jatiya Muktijoddha Council (Jamuka). ....

DHAKA, Jan 6, 2021 (BSS) â As part of revealing enrollment of the real freedom fighters (FFs), the government will verify the freedom fighters list published under civil gazette on January 30.
âThe government will verify the list of those freedom fighters who have been enlisted under the civil gazette deviating approval from section 7 (jha) of the National Freedom Fighters Council Act 2002,â according to a concerned ministry release here today.
At the upazila level, the verification will be held at 10 am at the offices of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and for the city, it will be held at the offices of the Deputy Commissioner on the day. ....
