Free Admissions Available For 10 Cedar Rapids Attractions
'Freebie February' has arrived. Looking back on a year that's been difficult for so many, including area attractions, the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation and Cedar Rapids Tourism Office have launched a collaboration that allows area residents and visitors to get free admissions and memberships to ten local attractions.
At the
Cedar Rapids Museum of Art (above), you can get a family membership with unlimited free general admission to the museum, as well as the Grant Wood Studio. It covers two adults and all kids in that household that are under 18. There are 125 free memberships available. They're good through February 28, 2022.

CEDAR RAPIDS - Despite the pandemic and because of the derecho, the timing was perfect for Brucemore to not only meet, but exceed, a fundraising goal for the historic estate's first capital campaign.

$175,000 coming to Orchestra Iowa in state CARES grant

Orchestra Iowa will be receiving $175,000 and the Iowa Children’s Museum in Coralville will be getting $114,000 in one-time state grants aimed at assisting arts and cultural organizations and artists hit hard by the pandemic.
The $7 million in grants, announced this week, comes from the $1.25 billion Iowa received from the federal Coronavirus, Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act.
The awards, which averaged just over $25,000, went to 267 cultural organizations and 152 artists in the state.
The Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs received 550 grant requests, totaling $36 million, by the Dec. 11 deadline set for the wards. The Iowa Arts & Culture Recovery Program was announced Dec. 2.
