(Hinesville, GA) – Waldo Pafford Elementary was recently selected by the Georgia Department of Education as one of seven schools in the state to be named Military Flagship Schools. The Military Flagship School Award recognizes schools going above and beyond to provide a supportive environment for military students and their families. Military Flagship Schools provide specific outreach to military families and recognize and accommodate their unique needs. Groups joined together on Saturday in an effort to clean the City of Scott.
Parish Proud, Republic Services, the City of Scott, Kiwanis Club of Scott and local service organizations Boys Scouts of America, Acadiana Homeschool Key Club, National Junior Beta Club (Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School) and 4-H have joined forces to pick up litter to beautify the City.
The groups met Saturday morning at Scott Event Center located at 110 Lions Club Road.
Volunteers say the cleanup is an effort to show pride in their city.
