International students bring awareness to autism – Lundagard.se

Two international lundastudents host events celebrating the National Autism Acceptance Month
In honour of the National Autism Acceptance Month, Rudinë Fetahaj and Flaka Isufi, two friends from Kosovo studying at the Medical Faculty in Lund University, challenged themselves by creating an event that celebrates individuals with autism and highlights the role of e-health in the time of a pandemic.
They organised two separate events on the 24th of April and May 1st. The first was a panel discussion about the role of e-health (the healthcare services supported by electronic processes), and the second was a movie screening telling the story of an individual with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Lundagård had the opportunity to meet with Flaka Isufi and Rudinë Fetahaj to discuss the inspiration for the events and what they learned from the experience. ....

Madison's breweries give back with new beers

A handful of local breweries are selling pints for a couple good causes. Working Draft Brewing Co., Young Blood Beer Co., Vintage Brewing Co., Karben4 Brewing and Great Dane Pub & Brewing Co. have all partnered with initiatives dedicated to autism awareness, brain cancer research, suicide prevention and mental health education.
A portion of the proceeds from each brewery’s beer will be donated to nonprofits.

DELAWARE. – Easterseals celebrates National Autism Acceptance Month my highlight the work of one teen making a difference in his community. Avante Davis works at Giant Bakery, and for the past four years, enjoys baking cookies and putting a smiles on peoples faces.
Avante is living with autism, but he doesn’t let that stop him. He found a job with the help of Easterseals Supported Employment Program, helping those like Avante reach their full potential. “I think that when you hear disabilities you think that they’re not capable of doing anything but disabilities still give them abilities,” said Employment Specialist Teyanna Bailey. ....
