Minneapolis (KROC AM News) - The winter storm that hit most of Minnesota Wednesday closed major roads, stranded motorists and dumped record snow in some areas.
It also left the state shivering as it departed.
Some of the heaviest snow fell in the Twin Cities area where the National Weather Service Office in Chanhassen reported a record 8.7 inches. Owatonna reported one of the highest totals south of the metro with 6 inches.
Strong winds created blizzard conditions and drifting in many areas and that led to numerous road closures and traffic mishaps. ....
