The government on Thursday granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the British Council to hold mini exams for O Level students from July 26 till August 6.
The news about the NOC was announced by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood in tweet.
We issued an NOC today to British Council allowing it to hold special O level exams from July 26 to August 6, said the minister along with the document.
Mehmood said that the exams will allow O level students to start A level or FA/Fsc from September of this year and ensure that their year is not wasted. ....

Islamabad: The education ministers met on Monday via video link and decided that the board examinations for 10 and 12 grades would be held across the country after June 20 with the provinces and regions finalising their dates by themselves.
They also agreed that the students won’t be promoted to the next classes without passing exams and that there would be fewer summer vacation than usual. The decisions come as the educational institutions resumed in-person learning in districts with less than five per cent coronavirus positivity rate.
The in-person academic activities in major cities stand suspended due to high COVID-19 incidence. Federal education minister Shafqat Mahmood chaired the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers Conference, which he called to finalise the schedules of board exams and summer vacation and the reopening of the remaining educational institutions in ligh ....

LAHORE:Inter-provincial Education Ministers Conference (IPEMC) in its meeting held on Monday decided that Secondary School Certificate (Matriculation) and Intermediate Annual Examinations 2021 across the country will be held after June 20.
The meeting chaired by Federal Minister Education & Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood and attended by provincial education ministers and administrative officers through a video link further decided that exam boards in the respective provinces would finalise the exam dates.
It was also decided to curtail annual summer vacation this year in the wake of frequent and prolonged closure of education institutions because of Covid-19 situation. The meeting also stressed the need of prioritising vaccination of exam staff by the provinces. Meanwhile, the Punjab government assured that a dedicated vaccination centre for teachers would soon be set up in the province. ....
