A vacation abroad and clubbing is out of question on a New Year s Eve. So, people are flocking to private holiday homes instead.
Rashmi and Rohan Menon decided to rent out an apartment in Dehradun after winter break in school of their two children. The reason was simple. While it will still be the four of us, we will have a change of scene and we will be able to maintain all the safety protocols (due to COVID-19), says Rashmi. The Menons are taking a two-week break where the family will enjoy a vacation in December and will work in the first week of January. ....

“It has been one of the best New Year’s bookings for the company since our inception in the last 5 years. One of the private villas sold for 3 lakh per night with everything included. Most private homes and villas were at 60-70% occupancy, and December has seen 90% occupancy,” says Devendra Parulekar, Founder, SaffronStays.
Covid seems to be a blessing in disguise when it comes to private vacation homes which have seen business booming during the pandemic. Most have more than doubled financials since December 2019 and leading owner of private Villas and Estates in Mumbai and Pune, SaffronStays has been offering stays from `60,000 to `1,50,000 per night depending on the villa! ....
