ONE man was killed and another injured after a residential building being built in Barangay Apas, Cebu City collapsed Saturday morning, May 22, 2021.
City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) officer-in-charge Ramil Ayuman said the accident, which involved only the two workers, happened on Lapulapu St. past 11:30 a.m.
Rescuers first found a badly bruised 41-year-old Abel Bautista. He was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center for treatment. ....

Study: Black, Asian and Hispanic workers continue to earn less in Kentucky

FRANKFORT, Ky. (KT) – A new study released Thursday by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education finds that despite growing diversity in Kentucky’s workforce, Black and Asian employees still face income disparities when compared to white peers, even after earning a superior college degree.
The CPE analysis shows that, on a median basis, Black, Asian and Hispanic workers in Kentucky continue to earn less than white counterparts do over a lifetime.  In many cases, the gaps are severe.
For instance, CPE says Black Kentuckians with an associate degree earn only about 46% of the amount that white workers make over a lifetime with the same credential.  Earnings grow to 55% at the bachelor’s degree level and 57% at the master’s degree level.  However, even with a master’s degree, Black workers still earn less on a median basis than white employees who only have ....
