Six KCS, CCS CTE students complete Wayne Brothers pre-apprenticeship program

KANNAPOLIS — Six students in Kannapolis City Schools and Cabarrus County Schools signed their certificate of completion on their pre-apprenticeship program at Wayne Brothers at a Career Signing Day at KCS’s Central office on Wednesday.
The students can now move on to the apprenticeship program at Wayne Brothers — which is essentially a paid internship — after they graduate from their respective high schools. Juan Jacquez Vergara, Elier Santilan, Juan Cabello, Kevin Nava and Salvador Ramos of A.L. Brown High School and Warren Rickard of Central Cabarrus High School signed their certificates to finish up their pre-apprenticeships at the Central Offices of Kannapolis City Schools on Wednesday. ....

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. The state is looking to boost the number of bilingual and multicultural early childhood educators in New Mexico.
The New Mexico Higher Education and Early Childhood and Care departments are teaming up to spur recruitment and create a pipeline for personnel.
According to a news release, the state budget includes $7 million for this effort, which is billed as “the first of its kind.”
The money can go toward hiring costs, recruitment initiatives and endowments.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Higher Education Department (NMHED), Public Education Department and College Connect New Mexico will celebrate students who have decided to continue their education beyond high school during New Mexico College and Career Signing Day today, May 4.     
High school seniors and other college-bound New Mexicans will be recognized in a video celebration that will stream on the New Mexico Public Education Department’s Facebook page at 3 p.m. May 4.
