American Crystal donates to Crookston High School Industrial Tech

    American Crystal Sugar recently awarded the Crookston Industrial Technology Department a check for $5,000 to help with the purchase and installation of a CNC Plasma Cutter from Minnesota Based Company, Shop Sabre.  The new CNC Plasma Cutter which uses a software interface to cut metal into a specific size and shape will replace the old Plasma Cutter.
Travis Oliver who is an instructor for the Industrial Technology department at the Crookston High School is looking to expand his class offering to include integrated technology.   This will help teach and give students hands on experience so that this will put them in a better position to be successful as soon as they graduate.  It is Oliver’s belief that, “this field is ripe for tremendous growth in the future within many different industries, some of these industries are right here in Crookston”.   ....

Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park has introduced a recycled plastic road on Noppharat Beach in the Muang district of Krabi.
The road is about 3km long and made from 10,270kg of single-use plastic waste.
If we separate plastics from other rubbish, we can upcycle the trash to make a durable road, said Prayoon Pongpan, the chief of the national park.
The upcycling project was initiated by Khao Shong Industry 1979, the producer of Khao Shong instant coffee. It worked with the Green Road project of Asst Prof Wechsawan Lakas, a lecturer at the Industrial Technology Department of the Science and Technology Faculty of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University. CTC hosts event for transitioning soldiers


Central Texas College, Workforce Solutions of Central Texas, Texas Ford Dealers and the U.S. Army hosted an event to recognize the partnership program which provides transitioning soldiers career opportunities in the automotive industry.
The Technicians of Tomorrow program, which began last August, is designed to educate soldiers as they transition out of service and place them in employment as technicians at Ford dealerships across Texas, according to a news release from Central Texas College.
The partnership event held in the automotive bay of the CTC Industrial Technology Department was highlighted by a grant donation of $106,303 from the Workforce Solutions of Central Texas for training vehicles and equipment. The grant was matched by Texas Ford Dealers for a total contribution of more than $212,600. ....
