Martin High School Senior Awarded a $40K Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, Internship

Chijioke is among 100 new Amazon Future Engineer scholarship recipients to receive $40,000 over four years to study computer science starting this fall and a guaranteed, paid internship opportunity at Amazon after their freshman year of college.
A Martin High School senior was awarded a $40,000 Amazon Future Engineer scholarship to a college of their choice and a guaranteed internship.
Out of thousands of applicants, Chijioke Mgbahurike is one of 100 high school seniors from underserved communities across the country who will receive this scholarship.
Recipients were chosen based on a variety of criteria, including their academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, future goals and financial need.  ....

The Brooke High School SkillsUSA Chapter has thanked the community for supporting the most successful food drive among those spearheaded by SkillsUSA chapters throughout West Virginia. The group also was recognized for its “sculpture” of much the food into a small Christmas tree and fireplace, complete with donated socks for Christmas stockings.
