I can tell you that all of us that are doing this are not doing it because we are happy but we are forced to do it. When you are leading an interest group like labour union, your major concern is about the welfare and well-being of your members. Non-teaching staff in the Universities, Friday announced that they will be proceeding on what they described as a total and comprehensive nationwide strike on 5th February 2021 following the inability of the Federal Government to address their concerns.
The non-teaching staff under the umbrella of Joint Action Committee, JAC, comprising the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU also announced the immediate commencement of a two-week warning strike.
Recall that the unions have made series of attempts to draw attention to the Government over latent and growing industrial tension in the university system but all to no avail. ....

NASU, SSANU meet over indefinite strike Tuesday next week

THE Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, NASU, and the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities, SSANU, will meet on Tuesday next week to appraise the outcome of the just-concluded three-day protest and decide whether to declare a total and indefinite strike.
This was part of the decision of the National Joint Action Committee, JAC, meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
In a circular signed by Dr Makolo Hassan and Comrade Mohammed Ibrahim, President of NASU and SSANU respectively, the branches were directed to take a holistic appraisal of the warning protest and take a final decision as regards embarking on indefinite strike. ....
