Des Moines leaders seek new downtown vision for COVID recovery, beyond

Des Moines leaders are looking to hire a consultant who can provide a new vision for downtown as it recovers from the coronavirus pandemic.
They want to position downtown Des Moines for short-term recovery moving out of the pandemic, and long-term economic vitality and vibrancy, according to a news release from the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
This inclusive process will be designed to build upon the momentum Downtown DSM had prior to COVID-19, and set up Downtown DSM for future success, the news release says.
The groups involved with the Downtown Vision Plan and Action Plan, including the partnership, Polk County and the city of Des Moines, among others, have budgeted up to $200,000, according to a request for proposal. ....
