New South Lake Tahoe assistant city manager to start June 1

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The City of South Lake Tahoe has announced the hiring of Lindsey Baker as the new assistant to the city manager. In this new role, Baker will lead public communications and intergovernmental relations and will advance projects and goals identified in the City Council’s Strategic Plan. In addition, she will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships for the deployment of mobility solutions to enhance regional transportation connectivity, air quality, and economic development.
“We are excited to bring someone on board who has experience in working with government at all levels and who is passionate about serving the public. With Lindsey’s breadth of experience, she will be able to start contributing immediately to South Lake Tahoe and help realize the vision and mission the City Council, residents, and local businesses have for our community,” said City Manager Joe Irvin. ....

Staying in Midlothian Was A Blessing
MIDLOTHIAN – Midlothian Commander Vernell Dooley ended up with the Midlothian Police Department after he says God intervened.
“It was definitely a God thing,” Dooley said.
In the summer of 2020, he began praying about where God wanted him to serve.
“As I explored other opportunities, I applied for the Chief of Police position in Victoria, a position that would have resulted in me moving hours away from my family. While I was not named the chief in Victoria, the process allowed me to have an honest conversation with my family, during which they made it clear, they did not want to move away from Midlothian,” he explained. ....
