Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation Board of Directors has approved more than $48 million in grants, interest-free loans, and low-cost loans to support vital drinking water and wastewater infrastructure projects across New York State. The FY 2022 Enacted Budget adds a $500 million appropriation to support clean water, raising the State s total investment to $4 billion and continuing to fulfill the State s $5 billion clean water commitment. ....

Justice Department Sues Town for Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities

Wolcott, Connecticut - The Justice Department Monday filed a lawsuit alleging that the Town of Wolcott, Connecticut, has discriminated against persons with disabilities in violation of the Fair Housing Act.
The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut, alleges that Wolcott violated the Fair Housing Act by refusing to allow the operation of a group home for adults with disabilities because of the disabilities of the proposed home’s residents. The department’s complaint further alleges that the Town amended its zoning regulations to prohibit any community residence for adults with disabilities from operating in the Town, in violation of the Fair Housing Act. ....
