View Comments FOND DU LAC - In Wednesday s meeting, City Council members will have the choice to amend and cancel the Lakeside Park agreement with Lakeside Forward though the amendment option isn t quite what a majority of the council hoped for. The meeting agenda includes two resolutions regarding Lakeside Park: one that will negotiate terminating the agreement, and one that would amend the agreement to move the planned multi-purpose building slightly west of its present planned location. At the April 28 meeting, the council voted to pause all of the city s work on the park project except for the pavilion until May 12, to give the new council time to review the plan and the agreement with Lakeside Forward. The pause did not affect Lakeside Forward s half of the project. ....

FOND DU LAC - Wednesday night s City Council meeting will determine whether a proposed multipurpose building will be built in Lakeside Park, but many residents still feel that committing to the project would be unwise, considering many yet unanswered questions. Thursday marks the 120th day since the presentation of the project s feasibility study and the deadline to evaluate the findings of the study and, if their goals no longer align, terminate the development agreement with donor group Lakeside Forward. Therefore, if the council wants to back out of the agreement, that action must be done at Wednesday s meeting. The plan before the feasibility study included a multipurpose building with a restaurant and meeting rooms on the lighthouse peninsula and an amphitheater that could be converted into an ice rink on Oven Island. ....
