Jamestown Public Market Moving To Third Street for 2021

Jamestown Public Market will be moving to a new location for the 2021 season. The
City Council Public Safety Committee approved the special event permit application for the market, which will open Saturday, June 12th. It will now be located on West Third Street between North Main and Cherry Streets. Public Market Director
Linnea Carlson said the market has become more successful and needed more space,
“We’re going to be having two rows of tents down the middle of Third Street and that’s going to help us expand the number of vendors that we can have. We’re also excited to move to Third Street because we just continue to build our relationships with the surrounding businesses such as Crown Street which is a wonderful opportunity for us to be in front of that establishment as well as the Lucy Museum.” ....

BERKELEY, CA Berkeley city councilmembers Tuesday night passed the first-in-the nation ordinance that provides oversight and transparency for the use of military equipment by the city s police officers.
The ordinance was written by Councilmember Kate Harrison and passed its first reading. A second reading will occur within 30 days after which the ordinance will become law.

If it becomes law, the Berkeley Police Department will have to get approval from the City Council and the Police Accountability Board to buy and the Police Department will have to report on its use of the equipment. ....

BERKELEY, Calif. - Berkeley city councilmembers Tuesday night passed the first-in-the nation ordinance that provides oversight and transparency for the use of military equipment by the city s police officers.

Proposed Ordinance Would Ban Gasoline Sales To Illegally Operated Dirt Bikes

     There is a proposal in Springfield, Massachusetts to combat the problem of illegal dirt bikes by shutting off the fuel supply.
   An ordinance being considered by the Springfield City Council would make it illegal for a gas station to sell fuel for an off-highway vehicle such as a dirt bike, mini-cycle, or all-terrain vehicle if it is driven up to the pumps.
    The proposal by City Councilor Orlando Ramos is another attempt to crack down on people riding dirt bikes, frequently in groups, illegally on city streets.
    This is not going to solve the issue altogether, said Ramos. Our goal is to just make it harder for these illegal dirt bikes to operate. ....
