State liquor store moving from downtown | News, Sports, Jobs


LOCK HAVEN The state liquor store in downtown Lock Haven is moving.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Wednesday voted unanimously to move the Fine Wine and Good Spirits Store at 137 E. Main St. to Clinton Plaza, Clinton County Economic Partnership Executive Director Michael Flanagan confirmed.
Flanagan said he listened to the PLCB meeting via a telephone conference call and the vote to move the store was unanimous with all three board members chairman Tim Holden, Mike Negra and Mary Isenhour approving the action.
“The store will relocate to the former CVS storefront in Clinton Plaza, hopefully by the end of the year,” Flanagan said. He said there are contracts to be signed and renovations to be completed before the move. ....

City enters sales agreement for supplemental water wells | News, Sports, Jobs


LOCK HAVEN Another step was taken recently in the city’s multi-year reservoir improvement project.
City council entered into a sales agreement which, if requirements are met, would see the city purchase one of its first of two supplemental water wells in Wayne Township.
The city is looking into the purchase of these wells to use when Keller Reservoir in Zindel Park is drained during the reconstruction of its spillway, City Manager Gregory Wilson said.
The first well, which a geologist has already explored, is situated on 9.1 acres of land at a cost of $200,000.
Wilson noted that the sale would only go through if the city drills successfully into the well and receives the required permits from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). ....

City approves two-year lease of land to solar developer | News, Sports, Jobs

LOCK HAVEN A solar developer is looking at possibly developing an array of solar panels on 186 acres of land near the Ohl Reservoir.
Lock Haven City Council approved a lease agreement for the Rosencrans property in Loganton to BAI Consultants out of State College at a cost of $13,950 per year for two years.
Public Works Director Tony Stopper said the city received two bids for the property, BAI and Schrack Farms the current leasee.
According to a statement from BAI, the company intends to use the land for “large scale solar developments that serve the PJM Interconnection utility grid.” ....

Updated: Area street parking restrictions start tomorrow due to snow
