FY22 budget highlights pandemic challenges, new opportunities

MIDDLEBORO – The FY22 Operating Budget to be voted on at Annual Town Meeting sees the town continuing to factor in and be ever cautious with the continuing pandemic and the economic consequences it has brought.
At the February 8 Select Board meeting Town Manager Robert Nunes went over the budget being proposed for next fiscal year. 
“Covid will continue to be a challenge and impact local revenues,” said Nunes, who also pointed to changes to the state and local economies over the last year. 
Nunes has previously stated over the years that his financial management priorities are usually based on remaining conservative with revenue projections. It’s periods like this where that is especially essential. ....
