Mackay City Patrol Acting Inspector Anthony Cowan last month said Mr Burrage had been testing newly installed headlights on his 4WD and was stopped on an access road when his vehicle was struck by a Mitsubishi Lancer about 7.50pm on March 20.
Inspector Cowan said the Lancer had earlier that night come to the attention of police at a roadside traffic operation during which checks found the car had been fitted with allegedly stolen number plates.
An East Mackay man police allege was driving the Lancer was taken to Mackay Base Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
