RFTA considers funding shuffle to support underpass project

The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority may redirect roughly $700,000 in Destination 2040 property tax funding to support a pedestrian underpass at 27th Street and Colorado Highway 82.
More than $2 million is still needed to complete the $10.1 million crossing – approved by the Glenwood Springs City Council in August to improve safety at the busy intersection.
The Glenwood Springs City Council on Thursday will discuss RFTA’s proposal to delay a host of service improvement projects and instead focus on underpass construction.
Among the possible deferments are $298,000 dedicated to a downtown Bus Rapid Transit extension and $395,000 to reroute local RFTA buses to Highway 6 and Highway 24. ....

Recreation facilities in Stratford and St. Marys are closing down, and officials have also made tweaks to other municipal programs and services as they encourage residents to follow strict public-health guidelines heading into the new year.
Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson provided a video update this week announcing the closure of Allman Arena, the Rotary Complex, Dufferin Arena, and the Agriplex beginning on Christmas Eve, two days before a four-week lockdown in southern Ontario begins on Boxing Day. ....

Town of St.Marys lays out plans for province-wide shutdown

Officials in St.Marys are laying out what the province-wide shutdown will look like in the town.
They say, beginning on Boxing Day, the service counter at the Municipal Operations Centre and town hall will be closed for drop-ins with both locations open for pre-arranged appointments and services only.
The Pyramid Recreation Centre will be closed for all programs, activities and events with the exception of the Friendship Centre and Community Centre for social services.
The pool at the Aquatics Centre will be closed.
