In a major achievement by Indian shipping companies, Chile has acquired ballistic helmets and a ship from Indian companies.
According to a statement issued by the Chilean Government, the Navy has bought the Anchor Handling Towing Supply and Standby Vessel (AHTSSV) for a staggering amount of USD 11.5 million.
The ocean support vessel was built by Kanpur based MKU Limited. The company handled the defence contract of 11,700 Ballistic Helmets and accessories worth US$ 7.2 million. The contract was inked with Carabineros of Chile. MKU Limited is the only Indian company that presently expor ....

Kanpur based MKU Limited has executed a defence contract with Carabineros of Chile for 11,700 Ballistic Helmets with accessories worth US$ 7.2 million. The Indian company which is the only one exporting to the LAC region is expected to sign a contract extension worth US$ 2.1 million shortly.

A Chilean Navy ship built by India’s Larsen and Toubro sailed into Valparaíso Harbour on Tuesday.
The $11.5 million contract for
Janequeo specialized supply vessel was awarded to L&T in March 2020. The contract was announced by the Pentagon. Work was performed in Chennai, India.
Janequeo is a twin-screw Anchor Handling, Towing, Supply and Standby Vessel (AHTSSV) with hybrid propulsion and dynamic positioning system.

Santiago [Chile], February 25 (ANI): Chilean Navy ShipJanequeo, built in India has sailed into Valparaiso Harbour in Chile on Tuesday, informed Indian Embassy in Chile.
Taking to Twitter, India in Chile wrote, Chilean Navy ShipJanequeo, built by Indian company Larsen & Toubro Ltd, sails into Valparaiso Harbour on February 23.
The ship is a twin-screw Anchor Handling, Towing, Supply and Standby Vessel (AHTSSV) with hybrid propulsion and dynamic positioning system.
