A Mexican state governor issued a warning about traveling to the border, citing recent spikes in cartel violence. The alert comes soon after Gulf Cartel gunmen killed 15 innocent civilians in Reynosa and Los Zetas kidnapped more than 100 individuals in Nuevo Laredo.
The warning came during a business panel discussion in Monterrey, when Nuevo Leon Governor Jaime El Bronco Rodriguez Calderon warned against traveling to the region, particularly Reynosa.
It is public knowledge what is happening in Reynosa, El Bronco said. The recommendation for the people of Nuevo Leon is to avoid visiting unless urgent. To wait for things to calm down, which should be in a few days. ....

LAHORE: The National Action Plan (NAP) to counter terrorism has not been fully implemented due to various reasons, including lack of civilian ownership of the plan for its execution, confusion on the definition of terrorism and absence of a national narrative on terrorism.
However, the successful Karachi operation and merger of the Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (Fata) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were important achievements under the plan.
This was the crux of deliberations at a ceremony organised by Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES), a German political foundation Pakistan and Pak Institute for Peace Studies (PIPS), an Islamabad based think-tank here Thursday to launch two reports - “Defining terrorism in Pakistan” and “Assessing the National Action Plan to counter terrorism and defining terrorism in Pakistan”. Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has raised the alarm over the worsening state of food security in the country.

It stressed the need for urgent measures to protect the most vulnerable, keep the national agricultural supply chains functional and efficient, and mitigate the food security impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
FAO country representative, Fred Kafero, who spoke at the ongoing 44th meeting of the National Council on Agriculture and Rural Development (NCARD), said the theme of the meeting, ‘Nigeria’s Agriculture and Food Security in the Face of COVID-19, Floods and Insecurity’, is a call to action, to cushion threats to the livelihood of a large section of the population. ....
